How to Have a lovely day.

Hello there!
Sorry I’ve sort of been MIA this past few weeks, don’t get me wrong I have tons to write about, time is just so limited. Well< i have made myself take up a challenge to write at least 2 a week, for starters. I’ve been feeling kind of blue lately, with major decision to make, (I don’t do well under pressure) It has been raining here, and so my staple for these type of days has become my favorite pair of cozy sweat pants and fuzzy socks, power went out last night to I began to write on a tiny piece of paper by candlelight (COULD not find stupid batteries!) I know talk about medieval! SO I started to basically write non-sense and sketch again. I had time alone to reflect on the things that have been bothering me, yes, this will be a zen-type of post, bear with me. My mind slowly started to get tired so I began to think and write down the simplest of things that make my life a little better, if not things that you normally would take for granted. I think this tiny piece of my list in a way represent the type of person that I am. Reading this list again made me smile, to look at how easy it really is to take pleasure in the simplest of things in life if we are willing to truly look. I made two, but I will only show a portion of them :)

I challenge you to make a simple list of the things that make you happy, reflect and smile, take the time to find yourself again. what make you smile?

*smell of the perfect cup of coffee

*the smell after it rains

*dancing around the room when no one is watching

*thinking about all the possibilities

*things I want to accomplish

Found this online, I thought it was quite accurate and so far true

I like this one too!

The Chemical Garden

It is basically needless to say that I am in that type of sad mood after you finish a great book but you seriously can’t wait for the next book!

I just finished reading the second book in a trilogy of the Chemical Garden, Fever – by Lauren DeStefano.

Fever book #2

I just have to say, I did judge the first  book by its cover, guilty as charged, I fell in love with the amazing cover from the first book Wither.

Wither

Fever: I really don’t want to give any spoilers away, but basically this is what the trilogy is about.

In a dystopian future, where there is botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold as polygamous brides to bear more children.

The main character Rhine, finds herself in the hands of a malicious housemaster and his naive son, who falls deeply in love with Rhine. She only has one thing on her mind. Freedom.

Personally, I find that Rhine’s character is very brave, persistent, strong and intelligent. well this was in the first book at least, in the second one, I was a but disappointed by her selfishness, nonetheless she stays the heroine. All I keep thinking is there is no way I could have made it through what she did.

I give this series 4 out of 5 so far

I seriously can’t wait for the last book!

Makeup look I am obsessing about…

Ever since I saw the wonderful Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 fashion show, I have been going crazy obsessing about the beautiful makeup look that was used for the show.

The things I like the most about the look:

It is super sweet, girly, feminine, doll-like and simple. The colors are absolutely to die for! I think it looks great on anyone and its just an overall classic style.

I am not only in love with the make-up but also the messy french twist with the hint of spakles on the headbands.

Here are some pictures:

THE HAIR

Re-create this look with the following drugstore products:

lips: some models used soft peaches and pinks, some just a bit of pearl-y gloss here are some options you might like to try.

Revlon Color Burst – in BABY PINK
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Pearl Lipstick - in Peach me 628
    * I actually have this and I LOVE IT!

Eye: soft shimmery sheens light pearls, soft glittery pinks + DON’T forget the flutery long lashes, I’m pretty sure that Louis used falsies, but for us *the real ladies* we rather tone it down a bit by using our eye-lash curlers and our favorite mascara.

For mascara I recommend the Maybelline Falsies for that fluttery, etheral look:

eye shadow can vary I found this, PERFECT and only $4! :)

L'Oreal Color Appeal Single - Pearly White Eyeshadow

for the cheeks: slight pearl-y sheen with soft blush NOT too much, you don’t want to over-power the eyes!

    bouncy blush!

    bon chance mes Cheries!~

GO-TO BASICS: These are a MUST

SO what I have just decided to post is this wonderful little check list of “go-to” basics, staples that are a must in ALL closets. Yes, these are the items that you usually turn to when you have “nothing” to wear. Why? because they can all be quickly matched to go together for that chic and effortless look we all eventually aspire. One example of a basic go to outfit:

*striped shirt paired with THE jeans, *those jeans that feel great every single time you wear them* okay, I’m not saying throw on a pair of heels, BUT you could easily pair the outfit with basically ANY type of shoes, ranging from red little flats, to maybe colorful sandals the “mix-match” settings are limitless.

so next time you really can’t find the right thing to wear, your go-to items are sure to save you time and keep you from stressing to much!
